ETA: D’oh. I just noticed that this is an XJR6, not an 8. Never mind.

ETA ETA: Actually, it’s worth noting that the vanilla XJ8L is 0.1 seconds faster to 60 than the XJR6, so eh.

Firstly, if you watch this, you will probably buy this car immediately: Old Top Gear , (XJR8 TEST etc), 1/2, 1997.

Secondly, be aware that if the owner can’t document that the secondary timing chain tensioners have been replaced, you have to change them ($1200–$1400) before you drive the car at all. At 100k, the old tensioners will be almost certainly cracked through. You also may have to replace the thermostat, water pump, and coolant reservoir (I forget if these are plastic on the XJR). Also, it probably has a Nikasil engine, so things could go very bad.

I’ve been really considering an XJ for a while to replace my E class...this is a beautiful example. One thing I wouldn’t do is daily drive it though. If it’s a secondary vehicle I say go for it.

By just saying an “extra 2.5%” one would assume you’re referring to a higher interest rate, which would be great. An extra 2.5% of the interest earned isn't much.
